So i just went to my friends house, and noticed he has the same thing as me. He had comcast/xfinity and then switched to verizon. His wii is upstairs and the router/access point is downstairs meaning that the distance is about the same if not greater as mine. So I decided to click the search for an access point option and then boom; able to find at least 10+ access points. In other words, the wireless interference and the switch isn't the issue. The wifi module inside my wii most likely broke.
Then have you concluded at 100% that your Nintendo Wii console have a wifi module problem?
Because you write the text "The wifi module inside my wii most likely broke".
Then after that is at your side, to contact Nintendo. i hope Nintendo can fix your Wii console, ...
